Websites can be a strong foundation to promote your practice and give you control over how you position yourself in the market place. Creating one can be daunting – where do you begin, and how do you engage new audiences? This workshop will be held over three sessions in September for people who want to revitalise their website or start one from scratch.
With over twenty years experience Amy Milhinch meaningfully connects the core values of an organisation to high level creative thinking and visual communication. She is currently Creative Director with leading Adelaide BCorp web design company Freerange Future, creating for cause and culture.
Amy is perfectly placed to lead you to an understanding of value and brand, and how to effectively articulate and position your voice online.

Session 1: The why of your site

Define who you are, set your goals, and learn to speak directly about your practice. A website is a holding space for content. So we ask; what content should go into the land of digital that serves you as an artist and your practice? We examine why you do what you do, your practice, your audiences, benchmarks and your ambitions. Amy will pose a series of exploratory questions to guide your approach to content development, site structure and position. At the end of Session 1 you will receive a content template to take away and work on in order to prepare for Session 2.

Session 2: Planning content for your site

Apply what you gain in Session 1 to plan and design your site. Amy will highlight platforms you could use and learn how to build your audience. Refine your content, plan and design your site, and learn about a range of platforms you can use in order to get yourself live.

Session 3: Building your site

Build your site! Amy will be on hand to provide guidance, feedback and to troubleshoot any design and content issues to get your website ready for launching! Amy will also highlight other methods you might use in order to drive people to your site, such as Instagram, media and other online supports to promote and best position your practice to engage audiences.
