Judith has a Design Degree in Ceramics from SACAE Underdale, SA Judith's major work is as a traditional figurative sculptor, accepting commissions, from very large, to very small projects, completing them on time and to budget. Examples are bronze St Mary MacKillop sculptures St Francis Xavior Cathedral, Adelaide SA, a bronze 2.25m cricketer, George Giffin, Adelaide Oval SA and busts, statues and saints for public art. Judith is a very committed worker, striving for realistic rendering of the figure and is able to produce a complex character study. Working in clay gave her a great foundation to the understanding of the properties, limitations and the many strengths of clay. Recent studio work, has given her fired clay figures a psychological complexity with narrative ambiguity. This work is taking her into exciting possibilities that does not rely on having her work cast in bronze, and allows her to expand her horizons with glorious colour. She takes on any study or challenge that will increase her sculptural knowledge, adding mediums and materials such as plasticine, wax, epoxy, paint, concrete, welding and casting to her repertoire.. She has also worked restoring terra-cotta and plaster figurines Judith has worked as part of a team on Public Arts Projects.
