Accredited Membership

Guildhouse Accredited membership provides practicing creative practitioners with a wide range of professional development services and a significant insurance package all of which will assist you to grow your business, achieve your career goals and meet requirements as a professional within the arts industry.

About the application process

To make an application online you will need about 30 minutes, and it is a good idea to have all the necessary materials prepared beforehand.

Your application will require

  • 8 good quality images of your work (.jpg, .png or .gif) at no more than 2500 x 2500 pixels or 2MB per image with 15cm being the longest length. Please be aware that if your images are too large they will not upload. These images should illustrate the breadth of your practice and complement the art forms you select on your membership application.
  • A statement of professional practice (maximum 1500 characters, or about half a page). This statement should outline the influences and inspiration for your work and may include details of materials or subject matter. It should also summarise your formal qualifications, professional experience and/or significant career highlights. Unlike an artist statement, which describes a particular body of work, it should provide an overview of your practice.
  • Your CV/Resume (PDF format). Guildhouse recommends that you do not include personal information such as address and phone numbers on your CV.
  • Relevant links: to your website, and any gallery/retail spaces which feature your work

Once your application is submitted online, it will be reviewed by two Guildhouse board or staff members. Once your application has been approved you will be notified that you have been accepted as an Accredited Member of Guildhouse by email and your information will be given to Local Community Insurance Services who will add you to Guildhouse’s Accredited Member insurance policy. Applications for Accredited membership are reviewed monthly (except for December and January), and you will be notified of the outcome or contacted within two weeks of your application.

Artists requiring Accreditation outside these dates, please contact Guildhouse staff by email [email protected] or telephone +61 8 84101822.

Please allow one week after the application deadline for processing of applications.

Payment of membership fees is required at the time of applying to allow for quick processing of the administration of insurance coverage. If your application is declined your payment will be refunded.

Please note a $20 fee will be charged in addition to the Accredited membership fee for fast tracking an application outside of the listed deadlines. Please allow five days for your application to be processed in this instance.

Allied Membership

Guildhouse Accredited membership provides curators, installers, registrars, conservators and/or administrators working in the visual arts a wide range of professional development services and a significant insurance package all of which will assist you to grow your business, achieve your career goals and meet requirements as a professional within the arts industry.
