Grants & Funding

Helpmann Academy Creative Boost Grants

Helpmann Academy Creative Boost Grants provide emerging creatives with a quick boost of cash up to $500, to support you when you’re just starting out.

Eligible emerging artists can use the funds to purchase essential services and materials or pay for immediate costs. You may be developing small projects, building digital skills or developing your audience. It may be to support you to continue your creative practice.

City of Adelaide Quick Response Grants

Quick Response Grants are for a maximum of $2,000. Applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the project start date. Notification of results is expected to take 15 business days.

Ian Potter Cultural Trust

The Ian Potter Cultural Trust runs three Funding Rounds per year to support emerging Australian artists to undertake professional development opportunities to gain experience, develop networks and learn skills from leaders in their field.

Arts South Australia connects the arts and culture sector in South Australia with financial support for a range of activities.

Ripple Effect Mirco-grants

Ripple Grants fund transformational projects that build and shape communities at local scale. The process is competitive, with an emphasis on projects that are clear, achievable and have impact. 

Micro-grants of $1500 are awarded to a different project every second month, as decided by our incredible group of donors based on the applications received over the previous 8 weeks.

Gordon Darling Foundation Grants

The Gordon Darling Foundation is a perpetual public charitable trust, established in 1991 to “support Australia-wide, activities of importance in the Visual Arts.”

The Foundation can only provide funding to Public Institutions in Australia. Applicant organisations must have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

Individuals wishing to apply for funding for projects must partner with a Public Institution which then takes on responsibility for the project.

The application closing dates for 2024 are:

  • Friday 31 May (outcomes advised in early July)
  • Monday 30 September (outcomes advised in late October)

Independent Arts Foundation

The Independent Arts Foundation makes available funding for small grants up to a maximum of $1,000 for individuals and $5,000 for groups.

All art forms are eligible including (but not limited to): Creative Writing (fiction, non-fiction, screen plays, poetry), Music (composition, performance, recording & production), Performing Arts (acting, directing, circus, dance), Visual Arts (all media), Film & New Media, Multi Arts.

Round 1: Deadline for submission of applications: 1st May.

The Creative Industry Grants have been designed to support creative practitioners of all disciplines to grow their practice and deliver projects that contribute to PAE’s vision for a strong, creative, impactful and sustainable arts ecology. Grants of up to $5,000 are available.

Exhibition Call Out – SALA Festival

Pepper Street Art Centre are seeking artwork that is garden themed or suitable for the outdoors. This includes sculpture, water features, furniture, mosaics, feature pots, glass, ceramics and more to adorn a courtyard or garden area. Places are limited and subject to a selection process.

Expressions of Interest Experimenta Emergence

Commissioned artists will join other exceptional Australian and international media artists selected for inclusion in Experimenta’s forthcoming exhibition, Experimenta Emergence (2025 – 2027). After premiering in Melbourne, the exhibition will tour to galleries and venues around Australia and be experienced by tens of thousands of people.

Commissioned projects will be awarded funding of up to $8,000 and will receive generous in-kind support and assistance in securing additional funding where applicable.

The Farm Margaret River 2025 Funded Residency Program

Applications open March 1 and close 5:00pm (AWST) Sunday June 2, 2024  with the eight-week residency to be undertaken between February and October 2025. Timing of the residency is to be determined between the Funded Residency recipient and The Farm.

In addition to accommodation in our self-contained artists studios, the successful artist or group will receive a grant of $7,500 (ex. GST) to cover out-of-pocket expenses.

Country Arts SA Breaking Ground Award

The Country Arts SA Breaking Ground award sets out to elevate and accelerate the careers of South Australian regional visual artists by providing the support to push the boundaries of their practice into new and uncharted territory.

The winner will receive $10,000 to develop a body of work for solo exhibition at Praxis Artspace in the Adelaide during the 2025 SALA Festival. In addition, Country Arts SA will provide a $5,000 mentorship opportunity for the successful applicant to work with a professional advisor of their choosing.

The M16 Artspace Environmental Artist Residency is designed to support artists in developing and exhibiting new artworks that delve into the core principles of environmental sustainability.
