Trusted for its in-depth understanding of visual arts practice, sector knowledge, professional networks and experienced team, and with a directory of 1,200+ members from diverse artistic practices, Guildhouse is a not-for-profit peak industry body for the visual arts sector in South Australia.
Guildhouse Professional Services (GPS) is Guildhouse’s social enterprise. GPS is uniquely qualified to connect South Australian artists, designers and craftspeople with custom public, commercial and private art opportunities.
By reinvesting profits into the arts ecology, GPS projects deliver wide-reaching community benefits such as employment creation, skills development and individual capacity development.
Maintaining a collaborative approach to working alongside creative thinkers and leaders of all kinds, GPS taps into the extensive Guildhouse community to deliver art projects to any scale in Adelaide and regionally across South Australia. We work with emerging and established artists and pride ourselves on the diversity and strength of projects we have delivered with First Nations and non-First Nations artists.
From consultation and strategy, research and scoping, through to artistic brief development, artwork budgets, artist engagement, contracting and concept generation, project management, stakeholder consultation, detail design development, engineering, fabrication, installation, artwork documentation and audience engagement, Guildhouse can offer significant experience and capability to your project.

ANZ
Guildhouse was invited to join the design team (Studio Piñata and Woods Bagot) in facilitating the artwork designs for ANZ’s new workplace on level 18, 83 Pirie Street. Through a limited commissioning process, Lawson Dodd (Kaurna/Narungga/Ngarrindjeri) was invited to create designs illustrating the dreaming story of Tjilbruke for the client facing boardroom and entrance spaces.
Ramsay Art Boat
Reignite Project
In partnership with the City of Adelaide for the Reignite Adelaide initiative, Guildhouse delivered eight new public artworks to enliven and activate key city precincts.
Lot Fourteen
Guildhouse was engaged to provide advice and recommendations to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet on a series of commissioning and loan options that would enable the installation of a large public artwork at the North Terrace gateway to Lot Fourteen.
City of Port Adelaide Enfield
Guildhouse worked closely with WAX Design and the CPAE Council Project Team on an upgrade to areas of Prospect Road in Kilburn and Blair Athol. Sam Songailo’s designs included the integration of light poles, paving designs and murals.
Department of Infrastructure and Transport - First Nations ceiling design
Guildhouse commissioned Elizabeth Close, an Anangu artist from Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara language groups to work on a ceiling design for the Department of Infrastructure and Transport’s new offices in Pirie Street.
University of Adelaide
Commissioned by the University of Adelaide, and in consultation with Kaurna Cultural Advisor Uncle Rod O’Brien, Wirltu Yarlu Aboriginal Education, Guildhouse worked with Ngarrindjeri/Narangga artist Cedric Varcoe on a design for vinyl.
Department of Infrastructure and Transport - Tjanpi Desert Weavers woven sculptures
Working alongside Multiplex and Woods Bagot, and in consultation with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport’s Aboriginal Engagement team, the Department sought Guildhouse’s expertise in commissioning four public artworks for their new Pirie Street offices.
The Wyatt Trust
The Wyatt Trust invited Guildhouse to commission low-income South Australian artists to create designs for integrated artworks in their new Frome Street office, Inparrila.
The Rundle Carpark
Guildhouse was engaged by The Buchan Group to commission a mural artwork on the North-Eastern ground entrance wall of The Rundle Carpark located at 90-100 Grenfell Street.
SkyCity: The District
SkyCity in collaboration with Buchan Group and Guildhouse commssioned visual artist Dan Withey to develop a large mural in the Adelaide Casino.
University of Adelaide
Working alongside landscape architects Oxigen, Guildhouse was engaged to steward an art installation that would create a day and night entrance statement for the northern entrance to campus, with artwork design by Kaurna/Ngarrindjeri artist Paul Herzich.
Adelaide Airport
The Adelaide Airport engaged Guildhouse to facilitate a public art commission to enliven the new link between the Atura Adelaide Hotel and the main airport terminal.
City of Port Adelaide Enfield
City of Port Adelaide Enfield sought Guildhouse’s expertise to commission a series of public artworks for the Jetty Road Upgrade, Largs Bay.
Journey Beyond
Journey Beyond engaged Guildhouse to commemorate the 90 year celebration of The Ghan through the development of a series of residencies which culminated in an exhibition.
Uniting Communities
Uniting Communities worked with Guildhouse to engage a diverse range of artists in creating customised public artworks for their award-winning U City building.
