Catapult + Tarnanthi 2023

Guildhouse will once again offer Catapult + Tarnanthi a career development mentorship program for South Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, craftspeople and designers.

In partnership with Tarnanthi, this mentorship program provides a funded opportunity for an artist to work with a mentor for up to a year, culminating in the presentation of new work as part of the Tarnanthi 2023 Festival.

Tarnanthi presents the contemporary art of the oldest living culture on an unprecedented scale, in a national event held annually by the Art Gallery of South Australia, and bi-annually across SA.

2023 Catapult + Tarnanthi applications are now open, and close Monday December 12, 9am.

Applications can take the form of notes following a studio visit, a formal written application, or a short verbal application via video; Guildhouse is open to working with the applicant to develop an accessible application process. Please contact the Artistic Programs Manager, Debbie Pryor on +61 8 8410 1822 for support with your application or debbie.pryor@guildhouse.org.au

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists working in visual art, craft or design are invited to apply for this opportunity.

The selected artist will have approximately 10 months for the mentorship and development of new work. The funded mentorship provides $7,500 between the mentor and mentee. The artist will have curatorial and project management support through both the Guildhouse and Tarnanthi teams.

The program aims to enrich the artist’s professional and creative development through dedicated time spent with an aspirational mentor.

2023 CATAPULT+ Tarnanthi applications are now open, closing December 12 at 9am.
