Planning an exhibition can be a daunting task, particularly when it comes to securing a venue. From commercial galleries to national, state, local and regional government spaces, and artist run initiatives, there are a wealth of exhibition spaces operating in the public sphere with varying methods of operation and it can be difficult to know to how to approach the process, let alone the roles and responsibilities of each party once a commitment has been made. Join a panel of representatives, including Melinda Rankin of Murray Bridge Regional Gallery, Ray Harris of FELTspace and Eliza Dallwitz of Art Images, as they discuss their various organisations and the ways in which they work with exhibiting artists and curators, including their preferred method for receiving proposals and how responsibilities such as exhibition costs, transport and installation, media and promotion, and insurance are divided.
