Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear the internationally renowned artist, Gwyn Hanssen Pigott, discuss recent national and international projects, including the exhibition Pleased to Meet You at the Vancouver Museum of Anthropology (which references an earlier project at the Freer Gallery Smithsonian complex Washington), her work in the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park as part of the Shigaraki Ceramic Festival Japan in April of this year, her window instillation at the Ipswich Courthouse and the project Hope Trail at the Sanskriti Kendra Residency, near Delhi India. A short film will also be shown.

Gwyn Hanssen Pigott is one of Australia’s most eminent ceramic artists. Her work is featured in numerous private and public collections worldwide, including the Ballart Fine Art Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, the Newcastle Region Art Gallery, the Ulster Museum in Belfast, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London as well as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. In 2002, Hanssen Pigott was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her service to the arts as a ceramicist and teacher. Her work continues to inspire a school of followers and is a leading presence in the contemporary ceramic movement in Australia.
