Oluwole Oginni learnt indigo resist-dyeing by helping out traditional dyeing families in Nigeria; slowly they taught him their family secrets. He went on to set up his own studios and to teach indigo dyeing in his local community, helping many people to form micro-businesses as a way of overcoming the extreme poverty found in some parts of Nigeria. During these day-long Nigerian indigo dyeing workshops Oluwole imparts some of his passion for art and his cultural heritage, while teaching this ancient dyeing technique.
