Are you a practicing curator? Get ready to engage your brain at maximum speed as Lisa Slade leads you through a number of practical curating experiments and challenges. In this workshop you will explore multiple curatorial methodologies and strengthen your understanding of the role of the curator in audience development. Lisa Slade is the Assistant Director, Artistic Programs, Art Gallery of South Australia.

Lisa Slade is Assistant Director, Artistic Programs, at the Art Gallery of South Australia. From 2011 until early 2015 she was Project Curator at the Art Gallery, during which time she curated The Extreme Climate of Nicholas Folland, Heartland: Contemporary Art from South Australia, and managed the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art in both 2012 and 2014. In 2016 she curated Magic Object, the record-breaking Adelaide Biennial. She currently lectures in several postgraduate courses delivered by the University of Adelaide in collaboration with the Art Gallery of South Australia and has written and published reviews, academic essays, catalogue entries and monographs. She is currently developing an exhibition for the Art Gallery of South Australia titled Sappers & Shrapnel, which brings together trench art and contemporary art, and opens on Remembrance Day this year.
