UPDATE COVID-19 Alert 16 November 2020
The Department for Health and Wellbeing is in the process of contacting everyone who was in the Emergency Department at Lyell McEwin Hospital between 5.30pm Friday 13 November and 4am Saturday 14 November who may have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.
However, if you have visited this location during this time, and have not been contacted by SA Health, you should self-quarantine immediately and call the SA COVID-19 Information line 1800 253 787.
If you have visited any of the following locations during the listed time, you do not need to self-quarantine but you should monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if symptoms appear.

The Austraia Council for the Arts has developed a practical, user-friemdly Re-Activate guide for independent artists amd organisations to help confidently comply with government guidelines to recommence practice and open doors to welcome audiences, visitors and customers.
Funding for South Australian practitioners
2020-2021 State Budget
UPDATE The South Australian Budget for 2020-21 includes a broad suite of measures to support the arts and cultural sector.
- $10.2 million in COVID-recovery, as announced back in September
- An additional $50 million for the Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre (AACC) to be built in the heart of Adelaide at Lot Fourteen;
- $86.5 million over five years for a purpose-built storage facility for the state’s major cultural institutions;
- $5.4 million to expand the Post Production, Digital and Visual Effects Rebate Scheme to include video game development;
- $2.3 million for upgrades to country theatres, and;
- $31.2 million over four years for the continuing upgrade to Festival Plaza.
Small Business Grants Round Two
UPDATE The state government has announced that cash grants of $10,000 for eligible small businesses and not-for-profits still hard hit by COVID-19 will be paid from as early as today (16 November 2020), as demand for the targeted State Government assistance continues to grow.
The Small Business Grant program provides support to South Australian small businesses that are highly impacted by the COVID19 pandemic.
- This round includes $10,000 grants for eligible small businesses that employ staff and are receiving JobKeeper from 28 September 2020.
- It also introduces $3,000 grants for small businesses that do not employ staff, are operating from commercial premises, and are receiving JobKeeper from 28 September 2020.

Country Arts SA’s Grant Programs are open for applications under the following streams:
- Quick Response Grant — Regional Arts Fund (up to $2000 individuals and $4000 organisations)

City of Adelaide Arts and Culture Grants
The City of Adelaide’s is welcoming Quick Response and Cultural Promotion grants applications of up to $2,000 from the creative community to make and promote innovative content to enable Adelaide’s communities to connect to creative pursuits in alternative formats given the current requirements for social distancing.

- The Australian Banking Association has information that may assist if you are experiencing financial hardship.
- The Australian Government has set up a Jobs Hub to supporting businesses and those Australians looking for work. You can find advertised vacancies in the health and care sectors, transport and logistics, some areas of retail, mining and mining services, manufacturing, agriculture and government sectors, among others.
- A loan guarantee scheme has been implemented to support small to medium-sized businesses. It is free to access and will be repayment-free for six months.
- The Government is providing tax-free payments between $20,000 and $100,000 to eligible small to medium businesses and not-for-profits that employ people. These payments will help with cash flow so businesses can keep operating, pay bills and retain staff. Payment will be delivered by the ATO as an automatic credit in the activity statement system from 28 April 2020. Businesses can find out more here.
- You are now able to draw on your superannuation and access up to $10,000 of your super if you need it. However, we recommend you use this as a last resort since for many artists and arts workers there may not be much to draw from. If you’re in a position to do so, we recommend preserving your super so you have access to it when you need it, during your retirement.

Your Guildhouse insurance policy
If you are an Accredited or Allied member of Guildhouse, you may be wondering what your insurance policy covers.
The insurance policy attached to Guildhouse membership is a public liability and personal accident policy.
The personal accident component does not cover you for illness, including COVID-19. The policy relates to any accident that prevents you from working on your practice.

At this difficult time, please know that help is near.
- The Arts Wellbeing Collective has collated a number of free resouces to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in the performing arts.
- The Support Act Wellbeing Helpline is a free, confidential counselling service that is available to anyone working in the arts, who needs to talk to someone about any aspect of their wellbeing.
- The Australian Psychological Society has put together some useful strategies which can help both adults and children cope with the stress or anxiety experienced as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
- Call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or text the helpline on 0477 13 11 14.
- Beyond Blue can be reached on 1300 224 636 and has a comprehensive list of national helplines and websites that you can use.
- For the National Sexual Assault, Domestic Family Violence Counselling Service call 1800RESPECT for their confidential information, counselling and support services.
- The Zahra Foundation is available to assist South Australian women and children affected by domestic and family violence, empowering them and providing pathways towards economic independence.
