What’s On

Kurdinthi
Over three days, Kurdinthi brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander weavers from across the country for a weekend of gathering, connection, cultural exchange, and conversation.
The event will include a dedicated day for weavers and a series of public programs across Adelaide’s West End, including a symposium, interactive workshops, film screenings and exhibitions.

CFI Masterclasses
The Circular Fashion Initiative (CFI) is a landmark sustainability program developed by the South Australian Fashion Industry Association (SAFIA). They are hosting a series of Masterclasses offering in-depth, expert-led sessions tailored to fashion businesses ready to integrate sustainability into their DNA.

ANAT SPECTRA 2025 :: Reciprocity is a three-day gathering designed to spark curiosity, foster co-creation and inspire transformative arts practice. Featuring an exhibition, screenings, installations, performances, experiences, a keynote, panels and many conversations.

Learn the professional techniques in making bonded rolled edges lampshades from accomplished Lampshade Maker and Artisan, Laura of Amore Lampshades who has been designing and making lampshades for the last 15 years.

Workshops at Hahndorf Academy
Enjoy a range of workshops throughout the year, from pottery, photography to painting. Have fun and learn new skills in small class sizes.

Union St Printmakers
Simone Tippett is Union St Printmakers. She runs intensive printmaking workshops on demand. The workshops are ideal for beginners, more experienced printmakers and experimenting with different techniques. Everyone has different interests and levels of skills, so it is no matter whether you are a beginner or more experienced. Workshops are always tailored to the needs and experience of the participants. 10am-4pm Sundays at the 6 Manton arts hub in Hindmarsh. Drawing Roses with Gilbert RM Dashorst
Join one of Australia’s finest and World renowned Botanical Scientific Illustrators, Gilbert RM DASHORST CF, on a journey of discovering ‘The Rose’ during Nature Festival. Gilbert will guide you in drawing some of Carrick Hill’s finest roses. He will mentor you in creating field notes and illustrations on the rose.

Jewellery Class with Regine Schwarzer
I offer a range of jewellery making classes from beginners to experienced practitioners, including specialized jewellery-making techniques. I can also provide individual teaching for you to work at your own pace on a project of your choice. Specialised workshops are offered periodically or can be conducted on request.
Workshops with Pepper Street Art Centre
Pepper Street Arts Centre has a number of art classes for both children and adults. Class choices include ongoing classes of both short and long-term duration such as general drawing, general painting (acrylics, oils, watercolours, mixed media), mosaics, and others on a seasonal basis.

Sally Caston Printmaking Workshops
Seasonally offering varied printmaking come-and-learn sessions through her small fun inclusive workshops.
AGSA Educator Workshops
Develop new skills and engage with artists and curators through workshops and seminars.
Resin Workshop for Adults with Pine-Apple Creations
Create a vibrant design on a wooden serving board and coaster using resin as a medium.

Kurdinthi Workshop Program
The Kurdinthi workshop program is an opportunity to connect, experience and learn skills from weavers who work with diverse materials and techniques. Masterclasses and workshops are open to participants of all genders aged 16+, unless otherwise specified.

Pocosin Arts Online Workshops
Live demonstrations led by experienced artists, from the comfort of your home. All workshops are interactive, and are recorded for viewing at your own pace. Participants have recording access for 45 days.

Adelaide College of the Arts
AC Arts’ visual arts programs provide you a comprehensive grounding in the practical and theoretical aspects of contemporary and traditional visual arts practice. Offering specialisations in ceramics, jewellery, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. Explore traditional and contemporary arts practices through practice and theory coupled with business and entrepreneurial skills to build a career in the arts.

Adelaide Central School of Art - Short Courses
Our Short Courses programs offer a wide selection of studio-based courses taught by professional practicing artists.
We cater for a range of experience levels from teens to experienced artists. Our courses are for participants 18 years and over, and our teen courses are suitable for secondary school students.
Courses can sell out fast – we recommend booking your place early to avoid disappointment.

JamFactory has a range of beginner, intermediate and intensive courses across jewellery, ceramics, furniture, glass and more. Run throughout the year.
Learn to Weave Online with Australian Tapestry Workshop
The ATW has made access to our weaving classes easier than ever! Our online course gives you immediate access to instructional videos and a comprehensive digital course handbook in three modules. Each of these modules is supported by an optional monthly online session.You can book these sessions individually as you need them.
Evocative Arts Workshops 2023
Scheduled workshops in encaustic painting and collage, feltmaking and other media, taught in my studio to small groups of 2-4, and am also available for one-on-one training and mentoring sessions, by arrangement.

Studio 20 Workshop Space for hire
Studio 20 Youth Centre is located at the Aldinga Central Shopping Centre close to local shops, recreation centre and library. The centre is a hive of activity for young people aged 8-25 years, with a particular focus on art.
The Workshop Space is a multi-use industrial workshop space available for EXCLUSIVE HIRE for artists (18 years and over) wanting to use the space to work on their own artwork or run workshops, prices start from $16.20/hr.
Groups are encouraged to book the space for communal use and share the costs between participants.

Rundle Collective Creative Studios
Located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, Just off of Rundle Mall, The Rundle Collective Creative Studios provide space for visual artists and makers of any discipline to operate an affordable studio within an artistic and supportive community.

Post Office Projects
The Post Office Projects Studio program is dedicated to providing affordable studio space and professional development opportunities for artists. Located on the second level of the former Port Adelaide Post Office.

20 High St, Willunga
If you are a creator living in the Fleurieu area, this may be of interest.
Melissa from Temple Jewellery Designs has been making and selling her Jewellery (and that of other local jewellers) from this location for over 10 years, trading as The Jewellery Room. The local support and tourist traffic have made it a viable part time creative outlet.
It is a refurbished house, and some rooms have became available, at very reasonable rent, one of which is street facing.
If you have ever had the dream to try opening a public outlet for your creative venture, in a space where you could also work on your items alongside other makers, this could be the opportunity! Not available for Jewellers though, as this is already represented on site.

Mixed Goods studios is a multidisciplinary shared studio space only 15 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD. We are currently looking for studio tenants and have spaces available ranging from 11m2 to 27m2, there are sizes to suit a variety of creative disciplines and practices.

The Mill Adelaide
Situated in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, The Mill’s Artist Studios provide space for visual artists and makers of any discipline to operate an affordable studio in a professional and arts-compatible environment. Current and past uses include sculpture, ceramics, woodworking, illustration, fashion, painting, photography and more.

Fleurieu Arthouse
Fleurieu Arthouse is a multi-purpose, arts social enterprise situated in the tourism wine region of McLaren Vale. We have a broad customer-base consisting of locals and interstate/international travellers. Artists currently in residence include painters, glass artists, jewellers and writers.
Snøhetta
The international architecture and design studio includes a gallery space, furniture workshop and studio spaces.

praxis ARTSPACE
Located within the vibrant Bowden precinct, Praxis Artspace Studios was established in January 2019. Sitting adjacent to Praxis Artspace Gallery, this creative hub is focused on supporting a diverse range of artistic talent through its studios and exhibition program.

Mixed Creative Port Adelaide
Mixed Creative seeks to collaborate with organisations and individuals to develop arts based programming that supports our local artists and the community around them. A range of meeting rooms, performance and workshop spaces are avaliable for hire.

Makerspace Adelaide
Makerspace Adelaide is a community workshop for creative making and fabrication. We provide affordable access to a variety of tools and equipment – from laser cutters to sewing machines, and traditional hand tools to Carbatec power tools. There are always volunteers onsite to help members learn how to safely use the tools and equipment.

Central Studios Inc
The oldest continuously running studio collective in Australia, Central Studios Inc is a space for artists by artists. In addition to nineteen individual studios occupied by diverse creatives, Central Studios awards two six month residencies annually for South Australian artists with the support of the Government of South Australia through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.

Laneway Studios
Laneway Studios is an art space with a vibrant community of painters, printmakers and multi-disciplinary artists. Located on the outskirts of the Adelaide CBD at St Peters, it is close to shops and bus routes, with parking at the rear. Laneway Studios are dog friendly and value their safe, accessible and welcoming space.

City Shed
If you have a practical project on the go or want to build, repair or repurpose something, the City Shed offers space and a wide range of tools and machinery, with the bonus of handy person advice.
The Adelaide City Shed can be found at The Mill, 154 Angas Street, Adelaide SA 5000, and will be in operation on Mondays between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
