!Women Art Revolution
SESSION 3: 4:45pm

+ !Women Art Revolution, 2010, (USA) 83mins
Director: Lynn Hershman Leeson

Through intimate interviews, art, and rarely seen archival film and video footage, !Women Art Revolution reveals how the Feminist Art Movement fused free speech and politics into an art that radically transformed the art and culture of our times.

“All artists, especially women, need to embrace their responsibility and watch this truly inspirational chronicle of artistic segregation.”Lauren Lloyd, LAist, June 14, 2011

“Ms. Hershman Leeson’s documentary sets out to correct the historical record and goes further, making the case that feminist art — varied, messy, conflicted and engaged with the times — is at the very center of that history.” Rachel Saltz, The New York Times, May 31, 2011.
