The Catapult + Adelaide Fringe mentorship opportunity provides a platform for visual artists, craft practitioners and designers to reach a broader audience. The mentorship culminates in an artist talk delivered as part of the Adelaide Fringe program.
Catapult + Adelaide Fringe is presented in collaboration by Guildhouse and the Adelaide Fringe Foundation.

Gemma Rose Brook with Mary Tonkin

Painting from life, Gemma Rose Brook’s intimate paintings embody the experience of the environments she paints in and are characterised by her distinctive palette and expressive mark-making. The mentorship will shape critical next steps in her practice, including learning large-scale plein air techniques and strengthening critical engagement.

Claude Creighton with Steve Howarth

Multidisciplinary artist Claude Creighton developed new puppet-making and experimental theatre skills through hands-on learning with Steve Howarth at ERTH Visual & Physical in Greater Sydney.

The new hands-on puppetry making and experimental theatre skills developed by Claude through the mentorship led towards the presentation of ‘SMOKO’ – an experimental performance by Territorian artist Jasmine Story featuring puppetry presented during Adelaide Fringe 2026.

Truc Truong with Jennifer Mathews

Multidisciplinary artist Truc Truong was mentored by sculpture and installation artist Jennifer Mathews to develop welding skills and steel fabrication techniques as a critical next step in her practice.

During Adelaide Fringe 2025, Truc and Jennifer presented an in-progress artist talk, facilitated by interdisciplinary artist Dave Court, sharing insights about the mentorship experience.
