Exploring the complex realm of perceptual art, Jason Sims’ evocative light boxes blur the lines between reality and illusion. Inspired by a number of works in the Art Gallery of South Australia’s collection, including those by Donald Judd, Frank Hinder and Camille Pissarro, Sims uses lights, mirror and Perspex to challenge viewer perception and emphasise the fluidity of our constructed worlds.
Jason has been invited by the Art Gallery of South Australia to extend his project and produce a body of work for exhibition at the Gallery to coincide with SALA.
Jason’s new work will be exhibited in Gallery 6, Art Gallery of South Australia from 4 July until 27 September 2015.
