In this hands-on workshop, printmaker Hanah Williams will teach you all about the magic of etching and intaglio printmaking! Over four weeks learn how to etch and print a metal plate using green printmaking techniques from experience gained at a residency at Zea May’s Green Printmaking School thanks to Helpmann Academy. Embracing the theme of cityscape, participants will work together to create an installation of a cityscape. Through collaboration, individual stories of home and city will be shared and reflected.

Suitable for adults keen to try something creative or teachers who want to bring something new and exciting to their art classes, and printmakers – learn how to go green! No experience is required. All materials are included in the workshop fee. All participants will take home a collection of prints, an etching needle and a bone folder.

Artist Biography

Hanah Williams is a visual artist and art educator. Her practice focuses on creating unique state prints, installations and collections. She is interested in the characteristics of etching, imperfection and repetition. Hanah’s work delves into the realms of dreams, the human connection to the natural world and the concept of home. Hanah exhibits regularly and has undertaken printmaking residencies in Mexico and the United States. Currently she teaches printmaking at the University of South Australia.
