Guildhouse is calling for expressions of interest from South Australian artists for TWO Artist Residencies, the flagship offerings of ART WORKS 2020, an exhibition and residency program delivered by Guildhouse in partnership with the City of Adelaide.

This is the third year of the ART WORKS program, which delivers on the City’s Cultural Strategy 2016-23 for Adelaide to be recognised as a cultural incubator where people, enterprises and audiences flourish.

The residencies will be based at the City of Adelaide’s ArtPOD in the breezeway at 25 Pirie St, Adelaide. The Artist in Residence (AIR) program will run alongside the ART WORKS 2020 Emerging Curator and Writer-in-Residence also being held during 2020. There will be regular meetings, feedback and discussion across these roles in the development of curatorial, exhibition and writing outcomes across multiple city-based sites.

We encourage interest from artists with diverse artistic practices. The residency affords opportunities for a breadth of public and audience engagements including exhibition, participatory or performative events and critical dialogue. What these outcomes might be will be led by the artist, in conjunction with the Emerging Curator and Guildhouse Programs team.

We invite applications for two six month residencies spanning February 2020 to February 2021.

Artist in Residence One: February 2020 to August 2020

Artist in Residence Two: September 2020 to February 2021

Applicants may only submit one proposal and can nominate their preferred time frame during the application process.

Applications close on Friday 10 January 2020, 5 pm.
