Office Space
17 May – 10 July, 2019
Continuing our commitment to supporting the transition of graduates to practicing professionals, Office Space‘s latest exhibiting artist is Yoko Lowe.
In her current art practice, Yoko Lowe explores lines as created by human interaction with the world and each other, and how they they are brought about by human movement.
Scratching through the painted surface of her works, Yoko brings out what is internalised. These lines she creates act as a map to navigate the artists relationship to the human experience.
The conscious and subconscious combine with muscle memory to create an interplay of the panels marked surface and the impressions they convey of the bodies movement in time.
Yoko’s work is part of a new Guildhouse initiative to showcase recent graduates within the unique location of the Lion Arts Centre in the Adelaide CBD.
Office Space offers exhibition experience post-study for South Australian visual art graduates. To view the exhibition, head to the Guildhouse office, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5pm
