Designed by Burnside Village directors, this stunning mural was executed by visual artist Seb Humphreys. The mural offers a unique and engaging visual experience for visitors and passersby.

Burnside Village, long-time champions of South Australian artists, engaged Guildhouse to curate a one-of-a-kind artistic experience for the centre’s expansion as a world-class shopping destination.

In 2022, Burnside Village partnered with Guildhouse to deliver a series of public artworks as part of its transformation into a world-class shopping destination.
Working alongside The Cohen Group, Titanium Property Investment, Buchan, RCP, and Hansen Yuncken, Guildhouse commissioned six exceptional artists—Caleb Shea, Gray Hawk, Jason Sims, Peter Syndicas, Silvio Apponyi, and Seb Humphreys—to create site-specific public artworks that enrich the entire precinct.
From concept to completion, the project celebrates the skill, creativity, and innovation of our local and national arts community.

Artist Biography:

Seb Humphreys is a South Australian visual artist, renowned for sculpture and large-scale murals that explore the intersection of nature and modern urbanisation. Practicing under the moniker ‘Order55’, Humphreys is recognised internationally for his distinctive painting style. His public works are featured throughout Europe and the Americas, with projects undertaken in Australia and New Zealand.

Through decades of experimentation, Humphreys’ unique approach to mark making pushes the possibilities of spray paint. As transparent layers accumulate, composition sequentially builds. Traces of Humphrey’s processual gestures remain to break down time into frames, fragmenting the observer’s perception and creating moments of pause between planes of paint.
