Peter Drew is a renowned artist and filmmaker. His street art can be found dotted around Adelaide, Berlin, Glasgow, London, Melbourne, New York and Sydney. Works of note include Pixel Face which explores the way we use technology to replace the person to person interactions that our emotions have evolved to rely upon – becoming more connected but further apart. More recently he has undertaken Real Australians Say Welcome, where 1000 paste up posters were installed in all eight Australian capital cities, declaring the four-word slogan – Real Australians Say Welcome. The series confronts and draws attention to the topical conversation about asylum seekers, migration and the detention policies of our government. Peter Drew will present and discuss his practice in a candid and informative studio event.
