Cynthia Schwertsik’s practice spans visual and contemporary performance art. She has produced installations and public art for commissions and exhibition throughout Europe, Australia, South Africa and the USA.
Schwertsik will respond to the Flinders University Art Museum’s collection of Post Object Art through performance and digital work, gaining insight into Australian artistic concepts of the 1960s and 70s.
‘I look forward to investigating the particularities of Australian performance art in the 1970’s. I’m already hooked, ‘The Chair is not a tourist’ by Aleks Danko speaks directly to my practice!’, Cynthia Schwertsik,
The outcomes of Schwertsik’s residency will be exhibited in July/August 2019.
